WCJJ had a great weekend !!

We started the weekend in Vegas attending NAGA !!! We came back with 7 gold medals, 3 silver medals, and 1 bronze.. Everyone that attended came back with a medal..
Tomas Salas  and  Brian Valdez came back with the belt and the sword winning the Expert  Division ... way to go Team we are so proud of all of you.

Coach Brian drove back at 4am then headed to Hollywood to Corner David "The Criminal " Tubbs at the Avalon coming back with another win for Team West Coast .

David Tubbs improved to 3-0 on the strength of his stifling ground game. After a very short time on the feet, Tubbs put together a chain of technique that easily secured the victory. Trip takedown, mount, ground and pound, transition to the back, and finally the palm to palm rear naked choke. All three victories have come on the mat for Tubbs, although this was the ...first by submission.

Turtle sucessfully defends his CFL 145 title

Team WCJJ Francisco Estrada vs. Team Knucleheads/Gracie Murumbi Tim Riscen
Riscen took the first round by a slight margin with accurate striking, takedowns and grappling control. Round 2 opened with a strong combination from Riscen, but Estrada countered with a kick flush to the jaw. “I saw a nice setup off the cross,” said Estrada, “halfway through the first round and I knew it was going to be there in the second. I took a chance and I threw it.” That spelled the beginning of the end for Riscen, as “Turtle” took him to the mat, mounted and unloaded on his skull. Riscen rolled to his stomach and Estrada wasted no time softening him up with a torrent of blows to the temple and securing the rear naked choke to end the fight.
Francisco “Turtle” Estrada wins by rear naked choke in round 2.
